Juliette's Goodbye party
Juliette Merrheim finshed her stay in the BCB and we organized a little goodbye Calçotada. It was a long day. In the morning she presented in a special lab meeting her results from setting up the wireless optogenetics in the Mouse Village. She did a terrific job during all these months despite not finding clear behavioral effects caused by the photosupression of AML neurons in the visuo-spatial delayed response multiple choice task. Her work has shown what seemed like a fantasy: that we can do optogenetic experiments in our homecase platform 24/7. More work is needed but, together with Balma and Rafa, she pioneered the integration of the two systems. After the science, we went to can Compte, were Albert prepared amazing calçots and everyone brought delicious things to eat: cheese, gildas, melanzzane a la Parmigiana (guess who!), tortillas, coques de Castelló, and … Tiramisu!. We had a great time. We will miss your enthusiam and your good taranà. Next time, we will go skying.
