Laura Ribalta

I studied Biology at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and soon realized that I was most interested in understanding the human mind. My first experience in neuroscience was an internship at the Neuroendocrinology lab in Belgium (Université de Liège), after which I pursued a Master’s in Neuroscience (UB). During my master’s internship, I joined the Neuropharmacology Lab at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where I was first introduced to in vivo electrophysiology. A year later, I began my PhD, focusing on the neural correlates of food addiction. In my third year, I joined the BCB lab to start a collaboration aiming to analyze and model the underlying neural mechanisms of impulsivity in food addiction.
