Dani's spring school experience in Paris, France
I attended the "Optical Imaging and Electrophysiological Recording in Neuroscience<https://parisneuro.ovh/>" Spring School, held in Paris between the 9th and 21th of May.
It was an 11-day course of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on workshops where I had the chance to learn about advanced techniques such as high-speed two-photon imaging, in vivo imaging and extracellular recordings.
Lectures and practicals were held at the Université Paris Descartes but we also had the chance to visit the Ecole Normale Supérieure (IBENS), the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM) and the Pasteur Institute. The course also offered intensive practical sessions and I had the opportunity to learn about Neuropixels, photolysis techniques and analogue & digital electronics.
And most importantly, the people were great (both my student colleagues and the teachers and organizers). We also had some time (although the course was intense) to walk around the old city of Paris and a couple of social evenings were organized and we had the chance to meet with local scientists and explore opportunities for collaborations.
It was an amazing experience!
